Though the Lakers aren’t going to face the three-point machine Warriors every night, that type of defense just isn’t going to cut it in the National Basketball Association, nor any other league.

“We talked about it in practice, but in the preseason games it hadn’t showed up.”

While the Warriors were prepping for the regular season, Byron Scott was still trying to figure a few things out as far as rotations go.

Lou Williams will be available tonight for the Lakers and will try to find a rhythm next to Marcelo Huertas as part of the second unit.

Both units competed well in the first quarter but fell apart after the first 12.

As his team entered its final tuneup for the regular season, he prayed his team would get through the night healthy.

The Lakers finished with 23 turnovers that were turned into 27 points for the Warriors. Golden State wasn’t clean with the ball either, coughing it up 19 times. Lakers rookie guard D’Angelo Russell posted 11 only on 4-of-12 shooting, four assists and two turnovers.

“Oh, much better than LA fans, OK?”

The Lakers hope Brown could eventually become the 3-and-D guy they are looking for, and in this game, he did not disappoint. Adding injury to insult, the Lakers lost starting guard Jordan Clarkson to a shoulder sprain in the first half, which immediately put a damper on the mood.

Clarkson contended that the issue was minor, but no one will know for sure until the guard undergoes an MRI exam on Friday.

Golden State breezed through their preseason finale in Anaheim with a double-digit lead that widened as the quarters went by, defeating the Lakers 136-97 seemingly effortlessly.
