Los Angeles Lakers Head Coach Byron Scott Is Kobe Bryant’s Greatest Enabler

The Golden State Warriors handily won against the Los Angeles Lakers, 111-77, on Tuesday to extend their winning streak to 16, officially giving them the distinction of having the best start for the season in the history of the National Basketball Association. “My shooting will be better, we’ll be better”.

“Maybe it is, but my opinion, watching him, I don’t think so”, Scott said. But they also like easy shots, and this season 29.5% of their shots come in the restricted area (the semi-circle near the basket that typically includes layups and dunks).

In the meantime, Scott is not planning on changing his game plan with Bryant. “So there’s obviously still milestones that we can continue to go after, but you go after them by how you approach each day”.

“For us to have to double that output, I mean we’re going to play hard and hopefully close in on that record, but it won’t be a disappointing effort if we don’t get there”.

After the Lakers’ Friday practice, head coach Byron Scott told reporters what he thought was to blame, as transcribed by Baxter Holmes of ESPN. However, their most recent antics are worth two or three more paragraphs. And I just couldn’t wait that long to talk about the team that’s setting the league on fire.

“I know his mentality is that he can still play in this league”, Scott said.

The Los Angeles Lakers have been off to a awful start to the season, even relative to the moderately low expectations for the team heading in to the 2015-16 campaign.

“He’s struggling now to make a shot”.

Scott added that he doesn’t think Bryant’s minutes played are taking a toll on his play and he isn’t considering reducing Bryant’s playing time, which stands at just over 30 minutes per game.

“And then in the press conference afterward, somebody would be asking me about this whole ’96 Bulls thing, and I love this stuff!” “You’ve got to have some kind of internal conflict thing”.

Barkley singled out Kobe’s over-reliance on his signature (and much imitated) pump fake as the reason why Kobe can’t seem to get a bucket this season. “I still want them to try to understand what this is all about, and I understand that they have to try to figure it out at times”.
