“The vote capped a year-long effort by the Falcons and Atlanta’s bid committee to secure the game for the $1.4 billion retractable-roof stadium under construction next to the Georgia Dome”.

Atlanta and Los Angeles were awarded the 2019 and 2021 Super Bowls, respectively, in a Tuesday afternoon announcement in Charlotte, North Carolina. Miami will host the Super Bowl in 2020.

Los Angeles, which gets the relocated Rams this season, has not hosted a Super Bowl in the area since 1993 in the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.

Also, because the National Football League required teams that want to host a Super Bowl to play a home game in London within five years of their successful bid process, Ross and the Dolphins gave up a big home game against the rival New York Jets last year, and agreed to play the game in England.

After a bill to help finance the upgrading of the stadium failed to win support in the Florida Legislature in 2013, Ross knew the stadium had to be drastically upgraded if the area hoped to gain another Super Bowl. Meanwhile, Dolphins Stadium will undergo a $450 million renovation before it adds another layer to Miami’s Super Bowl history. To turn the Dolphins into a Super Bowl team again. “The Super Bowl takes us from national attention to worldwide notoriety”. Fast forward to today, and Angelenos not only have their hometown team back, they’re also getting a Super Bowl.

L.A.’s winning bid was led by Casey Wasserman, chairman and chief executive of the Wasserman Foundation, in collaboration with the Los Angeles Sports and Entertainment Commission and the Los Angeles Tourism and Convention Board. “It’s going to be great for Miami”.

While the game will be played in Miami, Broward County stands to be a big victor, also. Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict, delivered the tackle.

“I think it’s a thing of the past”, Smith said of the NFL’s weather worries. It felt like the whole team was out there trying to twist my ankles and do little dirty stuff in between piles …

Burfict is a well-known dirty player and his antics all but cost the Bengals the game in their Wild Card game with the Steelers back in December.

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert will have surgery on his ankle and suffering an injury in the Pro Bowl, if you needed just one more reason to shut that game down.
