Around 2:20 p.m., officers were called to the scene near Ernest E. Debs Regional Park in the area of Mercury Avenue and Boundary Avenue.
The body of a driver was catapulted to the top of a freeway sign after his vehicle crashed this morning on the southbound 5 Freeway next to Griffith Park.
Authorities said the women, who are believed to be between the ages of 18 to 25-years-old, were found fully clothed. Police have not officially identified Gallegos as the second victim because she was a minor.
The body of a woman found in a park was identified.
Rosalia Lopez, who said she visits the park almost every day, told The Los Angeles Times that she and other women have discussed how unsafe they feel now. One of the women reported being groped as she walked alone, another reported that a man exposed himself, while a third said a man armed with a knife punched her and stood over her for several seconds before fleeing.
A preliminary investigation revealed the women appeared to have been murdered.

Two women were found slain in a Montecito Heights park. Friends and relatives identified the 17-year-old as Briana Gallegos, whose Facebook page says she was a student at Sonia Sotomayor Learning Academies. “We’re anxious”, Capt. Patricia Sandoval said Thursday.
