Losing to Ronaldo again sucks: Griezmann
Portugal captain Ronaldo scored three goals and supplied three assists to help Fernando Santos’ side claim their country’s first major global trophy.

Tens of thousands of people welcomed back the Portugal football team in Lisbon on Monday after the team won the European Championship, its first major trophy.
Santos has dramatically changed Portugal’s luck and outlook since taking over as coach in September 2014, after they had lost their first Euro 2016 qualifying game 0-1 to Albania.
He could not find the net in Sunday’s final, though, as hosts France went down to a shock 1-0 defeat against Portugal thanks to substitute Eder’s extra-time victor. “I’m really really happy to be part of this group and be champion”. I injured myself in the first few minutes. “I think that that’s it-it’s done”, Griezmann, who struck six times in the competition, twice as frequently as Ronaldo, said.
“But we needed someone to play up front and to let the team come up”.
“It is important for me – and any player – to play more than a few minutes per game, to have the support and confidence so that I can show all that I can do”.
The people of Portugal joined Cristiano Ronaldo and the rest of the country’s soccer team to celebrate their huge Euro 2016 win with a insane parade.
Ronaldo’s threat had grown with each match, and his enforced injury departure from the final was a new blow.
France’s Dmitri Payet and Griezmann also made the list.
Then he was lying on the turf again at the final whistle, this time in disbelief rather than pain.
