– The man responsible for launching millions of teenage love affairs with boy bands like NSYNC and Backstreet Boys has died.

Ashley Parker Angel, a member of O-Town, which was created through Pearlman’s MTV show “Making the Band”, also posted condolences and a picture of the producer with the band.
Pearlman had been serving a 25-year sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution in Texarkana, Texas, for running Ponzi and bank schemes. Then things really began to unravel in 2006, when a federal investigation uncovered that the business that had been funding his success in music, Trans Continental Airlines, had been run as a ponzi scheme, defrauding around 1400 investors – mainly pensioners – of more than $300 million.
In a tribute to Pearlman, *NSYNC member Lance Bass tweeted on Saturday: “Word is that #LouPearlman has passed away. RIP Lou.’ AARON CARTER, another of PEARLMAN’s acts, tweeted, “#LouPearlman my old manager died in prison.
I hope he found some peace. He might not have been a stand up businessman, but I wouldn’t be doing what I love today wthout his influence. Kirkpatrick wrote, “Mixed emotions right now, but RIP Lou Pearlman”. Without Lou I wouldn’t have met my four brothers or had the opportunity of a lifetime. RIP. “But greed gets the best of you”.
Before that, though, Pearlman had chartered a plane for the members of New Kids On The Block, and seeing how they were printing money with their albums, concert tickets, and merchandise, Pearlman chose to develop a boy band of his own.

After spending millions of dollars on a talent search, Pearlman put together the Backstreet Boys and gradually turned them into one of the most successful pop groups of all time.
