Simon Cowell has spoken out about One Direction’s hiatus, admitting that he has “no idea” what the future holds for them.

Speaking at the launch of the 12th series of the X Factor on Wednesday night, Simon confessed that he’d known for awhile that the four-strong boyband were keen to take time off from their “gruelling schedule”.
“I did what I’ve always done with the guys and said you make your own decisions and I hope you stay together, but you’ve got to want to do it yourself so they’re smart guys, they’ll work it out”.
He explained: “This is something I’ve wanted to do for some time”.
“I’ve been doing a lot of things, you know trying to get into the producing side of it which is pretty cool”.
While Harry and co haven’t spoken about what they plan to do when they take their hiatus in 2016, Simon revealed that Louis would like to go into A&R and Liam could be writing some tracks for Cheryl.
However, Louis soon put an end to their worry as he tweeted: “Your support is truly indescribable!” The 55-year-old X Factor UK judicial judge just lately opened up about One Direction’s split and whether he thinks it will be permanent. Besides the tumultuous year One Direction’s had, there’s also the Twitter drama he occasionally dabbles in, the charitable causes he admiringly undertakes, and that little matter of having a baby on the way.
Cheryl Fernandez-Versini revealed: ‘There are some really fantastic groups this year actually. “They’re not like One Direction but they’re good”.
