Louis van Gaal admits he finds Manchester United games boring

Paul Scholes branded United’s style of play “boring” earlier this season and following Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Legue One opposition, the former club great claimed both Van Gaal and his players looked “bored” during the third round tie. There are many reasons to leave a stadium at the last minute. “When you don’t score in the first 15 minutes, they keep this [approach] in 90 minutes also because they are getting motivation out of the fact we are not scoring”. You never know what is the reason.

“You can be very negative, but we are in the next round, won two matches in a very bad period. But we are in the next round”.

Louis van Gaal has confirmed Manchester United will have to make do without the services of Bastian Schweinsteiger when they take on Newcastle United on Tuesday.

All is not rosy in the Manchester United garden, with fans growing increasingly irritated by Louis van Gaal’s passive, possession-obsessed tactics.

“They have also been ironic [with their cheering] but that’s also an expression of the fans and that’s good”.

“How many stadiums were like our stadium, full, I think? Attack is more creative and intuition than defending”.

United, briefly, were second in the league, but they would not record another win after that until Jan 2, during which they also limped out of the Champions League group stages.

“With our injuries and players in the red zone, we have to take care of it. I think we have done it well”. The fans also have to know that we can’t always play fantastic football and that was the case in former days as well.

Van Gaal’s side have scored just five times in their last six appearances, and are desperate for goals in their bid to get back into the top four.

At times during yesterday’s press conference it seemed as if Van Gaal was in denial. I don’t hope that they win against us.

The manager also said that anyone who expects him to emulate a certain predecessor will inevitably be disappointed. “We have to beat them”. “We have seen that because he could not move (at the end of the game against the Blades)”.
