Louis Van Gaal anxious about fans

All eyes will be on in-form striker Jamie Vardy as he looks to score in his 11th consecutive league game after matching Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record at St James’ Park last Saturday.

“He was already a very nasty player for us previous year”, Van Gaal said of Vardy. If you combined those two bets in a score-cast then we get very tempting odds of 14/1. I played 4-3-3 with Ajax, 2-3-2-3 with Barcelona and I can play 4-4-2 with AZ. “It’s not so easy to do that”.

His red-hot form is one of the reasons for Leicester’s surprisingly superb season so far, sitting pretty on top of the league table above heavyweights Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City.

This match will be an opportunity for the Red Devils to take top spot in the Premier League and Louis Van Gaal will be desperate to win considering their poor form in the Champion’s League after only getting one point at home against PSV midweek.

“Normally these kind of clubs can compete for long time, then at the end it becomes more hard”, he said, before Saturday’s game at the King Power Stadium.

United have their own eyes on the title but whereas Vardy can’t stop scoring, their problems in front of goal have been well documented.

“There were a lot of good clubs that came in for me but once Brighton were mentioned, I’ve been monitoring them, because they’ve been doing well in the league”. “It is just fortunate that I’ve been amongst the goals and it has taken me on this run that I never would have thought would have happened but here I am with a chance of breaking it [the record]”.

But despite mounting criticism over United’s patient style and lack of goals, van Gaal insisted that he is not concerned.

“Of course (I am anxious about the fans)”, Van Gaal said yesterday, “because the fans have to be happy”.

“It is a disappointing result overall and leaves us with a tough game in Germany now, but we believe we can go there and win”, the United captain said.

“And we are still not lucky with finishing the chances, because we are creating chances. We have to win and that is the aim and that is what we need to do”. ‘But we are not giving much away. My respect for him is very big.

Many pundits tipped them for relegation after Pearson was axed despite masterminding last season’s “Great Escape”.

“The coach formed a really good team with a lot of characters from lots of different nations”.
