Louis van Gaal backs Anthony Martial to keep Manchester United’s dream alive
United captain Wayne Rooney, who missed Saturday’s goalless draw at home to West Ham with an ankle injury, will again be absent, but like Memphis Depay he has scored only two league goals this season.

Louis van Gaal has called on his Manchester United to prove they are worthy of a place in the Champions League by beating Wolfsburg in their final Group B fixture.
“It is very important for the club to continue in the Champions League”, said Van Gaal.
That being said, United do need somebody to step up to the plate right now and take ownership because our distinct lack of goals is really hurting us.
In this moment, I believe this is the most important match but only at this moment.
A draw would mean that United can only finish second in the group and will be relying on bottom side CSKA Moscow to get a win in the Netherlands. That’s a normal issue but you can’t score every chance and when you see how many players get chances in our team, it’s not a fixed person.
“It’s going to be hard to get the ball so we have to be very aggressive”.
Because of that it’s an important game, that we score and come through in the Champions League. “I’m convinced we can change it”. “Unfortunately it was not enough for a point, but I am sure that when we play at home we can win against them”.
“When you are a big striker like (Cristiano) Ronaldo, (Lionel) Messi and Thomas Muller, they are all the same”.
Carlo Ancelotti has given the clearest indication yet that he would be interested in becoming Manchester United manager.
“I didn’t expect that when he came”.
United have struggled in front of goal of late after being held to a goalless draw by PSV Eindhoven at Old Trafford last time out in the Champions League.
In order to win United will need to score, something they’ve had trouble doing this season.
“It’s a new situation for us but we are in a great position and that is not something we are willing to give up”.

Schweinsteiger will make his first appearance on German soil with United since his move from Bayern Munich and Van Gaal said they have yet to see the best of Germany’s skipper.
