Louis van Gaal hits out at Manchester United match-winner Adnan Januzaj

Aston Villa and Manchester United will try to continue their winning starts to the new season as they face off against one another on Friday night at Villa Park.

The Dutch winger was too eager to impress with a goal in the match and Van Gaal suggested that it’s a big step for the youngster so he will take some time to settle in Premier League. I think we have to pay attention to it and develop, but it can not cost so many points as previous year, that is the main object.

On what was otherwise a relatively quiet day for Mata, he provided a nice ball to Adnan Januzaj in the 29th minute, who did plenty on his own to score the only goal of Friday’s match.

“In the second half, especially after the substitution, we controlled the game and maybe we should have scored more goals”.

“Maybe we should have scored more, because of that there’s always tension until the end but we didn’t give any chances away”.

Sherwood said: “There was no-one shining down on us tonight, that’s for sure”.

“That does not bother me because you have to score one more than your opponent and that is the result”, he added.

“We talked with him [De Gea] and he fully agreed with our decision”, Van Gaal told reporters.

United manager Van Gaal this week stressed that there is no way Januzaj will be allowed to leave Old Trafford amid reported interest from Sunderland. We had been observing him in preparation – he was not so good, not the same David de Gea as before.

“I didn’t think there was too much in the game”.

United should have made it 2-0 when Mata sent through a long defense-splitting pass in the 73rd, but Memphis Depay’s first-time shot was wide of the target.

Sports bookmakers NetBet believe they will start off with a win tonight as they are priced at 5/8 to make it two wins from two in the new season.

He said: “I am feeling good after scoring that goal”.

He added: “It’s only rumours, I am happy here and of course I am going to fight for my place”.
