After all the mystery around Louis van Gaal’s “secret” striker, it looks as though Manchester United are preparing to make Fernando Llorente their next signing.

The Spaniard has since been linked with a move to Real Madrid, but according to The Mirror, Juventus have instead offered him to United.

30-year-old Llorente has struggled since joining Juventus from Atletic Bilbao two years ago, and is desperate for a move after becoming a squad payer in recent months.

He was restricted to five minutes as a late sub as Juve lost 3-1 to Barcelona in the Champions League final and is looking to move this summer.

This has caused papers to point to the likes of Alexandre Lacazette and even Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the “surprise signing”, but it seems that it is Spain global Fernando Llorente who is set to arrive at Old Trafford before the end of the transfer window.
