Louisiana Cops Kill 6-year-old Boy After vehicle Chase With Father
A 6-year-old boy was shot and killed Tuesday night in an officer-involved shooting Tuesday night in Marksville, Louisiana State Police said. The child, Jeremy Mardis, was sitting in the front passenger seat of a vehicle when the situation unfolded.

Avoyelles Parish Corner Dr. L.J. Mayeux said the child was pronounced dead at the scene. The boy was a student at Lafargue Elementary in Effie.
Mayeaux said the boy was in the vehicle when he was shot and it appears all the shots came from outside and through the driver’s side of the vehicle. Ward 2 City Marshal deputies spotted Few’s vehicle on Washington Street.
State Police’s preliminary investigation found that city marshals from Ward 2 were pursuing a man and “discharged their duty weapons, at a vehicle, at the conclusion of a pursuit”.
The Associated Press reported the driver was Chris Few.
“Jeremy was a special gift from God”. The coroner said Few reached a dead end and was backing into the marshals when they fired.
It remains unknown how the chase began, why, how it escalated, or if the shooting was captured on the city marshals dashcams. The coroner says the boy was “caught in the line of fire” and was killed. As far as what caused his death, the only thing I have been told is he died from gun shot wounds. He didn’t deserve what happened.
State police are handling the investigation, but they provided few details.

Few was at Rapides Regional Medical Center hospital on Wednesday in nearby Alexandria, Louisiana.
