The State Fire Marshal announced Monday they were lifting a 10-day burn ban as the saturating rain lowered the risk of wildland fires. It is also important to keep a water source nearby to contain and control the fire.

The possibility of a burn ban is always under review at weekly Commissioner’s Court meetings and a ban can be enacted at anytime by the county judge, according to the release. To request a permit, call the Pine Bluff Fire and Emergency Services Department at 730-2048. If you have questions related to the burn ban or need assistance in determining which fire department you will need to notify, please contact the Travis County Fire Marshal’s Office at 512-854-4621.
