Louisiana flood: Gov. asks for volunteers in historic deluge

Vast swaths of southern Louisiana remained under water – a metre or more deep in many places – inundating homes, businesses and cars.

As much as 2 feet of rain has fallen in the past 48 hours in East Baton Rouge, Livingston and St. Helena parishes, nola.com reports.
