Louisiana GOP delegation pledges fairness in wake of Trump complaints

It is possible Cruz would walk away with 10 more delegates to the convention than Trump on the all-important first ballot, despite Trump actually winning the state’s primary. Trump leads the race for delegates, but some Republicans are openly working against him for fear that he will lose the general election and cost the GOP congressional seats. And despite his outsider status (the largest percentage of Trump’s voters say they want a candidate who shakes up politics), he is also seen by the largest percentage of Republican voters as likely to accomplish his goals. They said if the state party doesn’t hold a vote, they would demand the rules committee at the national convention unbind all Colorado delegates.

However, the fake Trump wasn’t buying it: “You know what I think? I think we’ll win a majority at the convention and then we’ll go on and beat Hillary in November”.

Donald Trump first, Ted Cruz second, John Kasich third. The lawmakers said they traded information about how to sell Trump’s message to voters in their home districts and bolster the campaign’s voter outreach efforts.

Trump has been complaining loudly about the way he was shut out of the Colorado contest, where Cruz, who organized early, won all the delegates.

According to the Post, Cruz’s tightly run and the well-oiled campaign has built up a team dedicated to pursuing the state-by-state process of selecting delegates – assigning each delegate to a dedicated campaign staffer for support.

On Tuesday, the NY primary will award 95 delegates.

Potential rules changes include lowering that eight-state requirement or allowing delegates pledged to support one candidate to sign nominating petitions for another. “The real question is how the directly elected district delegates will vote at the convention in July”, Murray said.

After the meeting, Rep. Tom Marino, R-Pa., a Trump supporter, said “I’m more confident now than I have ever been that 1,237 looks possible, particularly because of the numbers in Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey”.

Suffolk County Police Commissioner Timothy Sini said several different demonstrations and events coinciding with Thursday’s Republican event were expected. Do you care? If the answer is no, you’re just like most of the state.
