Who do you think will take home the Grammy 2016 trophies in this list of nominations? Some of the nominees are no brainers – Taylor Swift, the Weeknd, Ed Sheeran – and then there are some obscure choices that you may find surprising in this comprehensive guide to the 2016 nominees.

The Grammys recognized Lamar’s world-beating year by giving him the most nods out of any artist this year (11) including the big one, Album of the Year.

It happened in 2012 when indie folk band Bon Iver beat Nicki Minaj and The Band Perry, and in 2011 when jazz singer/bassist Esperanza Spalding upset Florence and the Machine, Drake and Bieber.

Shankar, 34, has been nominated in the Best World Music Album category for her album ‘Home, ‘ an classical album illustrating the meditative and virtuosic qualities of the Indian raga. His other nomination is in the Producer of the Year, Non-Classical category.

The Grammys will air from Los Angeles’ Staples Center on CBS Feb. 15 next year. Bruno Mars, “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran, “Blank Space” by Taylor Swift and “Can’t Feel My Face” by The Weeknd are vying for the Record of the Year award. Her first nomination was in 2003 for her third album, Live at Carnegie Hall.

Pharrell and West are also nominated for four awards, including album of the year for producing songs on Lamar’s album. 30, 2015, meaning Adele and her record-breaking album “25” are not eligible yet for this year.

Anoushka says the feeling of being nominated every time is much different from her debut nod, which made her scream and run all over.

Courtney Barnett is going to the Grammys.

Best Pop Vocal Album: Maybe Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Emotion” didn’t do well enough on the charts to catch voters’ attention this year, but it crushes Kelly Clarkson’s decent-to-good “Piece by Piece“-not to mention the out-of-place James Taylor album”.

Goulding’s hit Love Me Like You Do, which featured on the Fifty Shades Of Grey soundtrack, was nominated in the Best Pop Solo Performance field, as La Havas’ second album, Blood, is one of the choices in the Best Urban Contemporary Album category.

Chaos and the Calm by James Bay, Kintsugi by Death Cab for Cutie, Mister Asylum by Highly Suspect, Drones by Muse, 5: The Gray Chapter by Slipknot are part of the best rock album.

Tame Impala is up for Best Alternative Music Album for Currents, with other nominees including Bjork’s Vulnicra, Alabama Shakes’ Sound & Color and Wilco’s Star Wars.
