The parents lodged a complaint with the Model Town Police after she did not return from the college on February 2.

Her body was found inside the shaft in ventilation area of her friend’s home in Shakti Nagar area of north-west Delhi. Her mother and father did not hint her after which they filed a lacking grievance at a police station in New Delhi. “For past few days, Arzu was quite depressed due to her strained relationship with Naveen”, a relative revealed.
The charred body of a 20-year-old student of Delhi University’s Laxmi Bai College has been found from the residence of her boyfriend in Rajpura Gurmandi area here.
“If the boy’s family felt that she will create problems during Navin’s wedding with another girl, they should have talked to us, rather than doing this to my sister”, she told ANI.
It has emerged in the media reports that Naveen Khatri and Arzoo Singh had wished to get married. However, my sister was abducted two days before Khatri’s marriage with some other girl on February 4.

Arzu had gone lacking on February 2, whereas coming back from her school. They have said that the boyfriend’s family did not approve of their relationship. “Why did they kill her?” said Akanksha.
