Lowry: Obama’s lies about police violence hurt more than they help

Obama related numbers about disparate rates of police shootings, arrests, and searches, among other things, without mentioning the single most important factor to put such figures in context, which is that blacks commit criminal offenses at higher rates than whites.

Clemmons demanded justice for her daughter and her two friends who also drowned that night; she and others think police could have saved the three but chose not to.

Regardless of anyone’s allegiance to the Black Lives Matter protests or police officers, Dr. Williams shared a sentiment most people can agree with: violence is never the answer.

Neither side should stereotype the other, said Gregory Thomas, president of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives. “This is where we’re stuck”. “It’s gotten so far down the tracks that I’m afraid even people who want things to be resolved don’t have a loud enough voice”.
