LSU beats Utah Valley 7-1 in NCAA regional opener
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) – Glenn Otto struck out five and gave up two runs in 4 1/3 innings of relief, and Rice had 13 hits in a 10-6 victory over LSU on Monday night to force a deciding game in the Baton Rouge Regional.

LSU will meet the victor of Saturday’s Rice-SLU game on Sunday at a time to determined based upon how much of the scheduled is completed on Saturday.
The Owls lead 4-1 after six innings in game two of the regional, which was originally scheduled for Friday but was postponed until Saturday morning due to inclement weather.
Antoine Duplantis led off the bottom of the first with a walk and Fraley followed with a homer to give the top-seeded Tigers (43-18) a 2-0 lead. Rice would score three more runs in the 5th inning and three more in the 7th inning. LSU (44-19) and Rice (38-23) will square off at 4 today to determine which will advance to the best-of-three NCAA Super Regional series.
UVU did manage to itself out of a bases-loaded, two-out jam in the third inning.

LSU freshman righty Caleb Gilbert breezed through his first inning but immediately ran into trouble in the second against the middle of the Rice order. The victor will play the Tigers in the third game of the day 55 minutes later. That game resumed Sunday at 11 a.m., with Rice defeating Southeastern, 7-1.
