A report from the New Orleans-Time Picayune said Miles insinuated that Saturday’s game against Texas A&M would be his last on the sidelines for the Tigers.

While there are also sources that say Miles will not be fired, the possibility of his firing has attracted the attention of other schools, including Missouri.
“Les Miles is our football coach and he will continue to be our football coach”, Alleva said.
Just three weeks ago Saturday, LSU was on top of the world. He was not only taking in the final regular-season game for LSU, but, if rampant rumors are accurate, the final home game ever for Coach Les Miles.
And he’s getting heavy pressure from boosters because he has lost three games in a row?
Now, Miles will get a chance to coach his team in another bowl game and focus on next season.
Miles overall record improved to 111-32. This will likely involve moving on from offensive coordinator Cam Cameron and trying to modernize the offense, although next year’s offense will still include Fournette, the all-world running back and Heisman contender.
Miles has won, there’s no disputing that.
The win continues the string of at least eight wins per season for LSU.
And they got their wish. We are leaving to go recruiting. After that, it was Joe Alleva’s turn to let Miles know that he would remain head coach of the LSU Tigers football team.
Despite all the head scratching and efforts to decipher what he said or meant to say – right up to whatever the hell he said Friday at a boosters’ club meeting – it has all been a blast. What kind of Aggie defense are we going to see tonight?
Justin Fuente is already off the market after taking the Virginia Tech job, and Tom Herman just received a very lucrative contract extension. Lsu Tigers rank at 14 for scoring 38.9 points where as Texas A&M Aggies rank at 54 for allowing 24.6 scores. Frankly, I’m not sure that they ones responsible for this whole month can even BE punished. Zack Mettenberger is the only true signal-caller that they have had in recent memory, and he was a transfer from Georgia, not a high school player whom Miles recruited. Leonard Fournette broke the century mark again, and A&M is still 0-for-LSU since joining the SEC.
The reports of Les Miles’ demise are, at least, somewhat exaggerated.

Those were recurring problems for LSU all night, though it pulled out a 19-7 win against the Aggies (8-4, 4-4 Southeastern Conference) in Tiger Stadium. LSU gave up at least 30 points in each of the three losses, the first time that has happened since 1948. “He’s 62. How many more years does he want to coach?”
