In the second period it was Fournette showing off his read, steps, strength and speed. The Bayou Bengals crushed Auburn in Baton Rouge last season, 45-21, behind Fournette’s 228 yards and 3 touchdowns. Instead, Mississippi State turned that turnover into points, twice. He made the most of his opportunity leading MSU to two touchdown drives and pulling the Bulldogs within three points.
