LSU’s Jalen Mills suffers ankle injury, could miss 4-6 weeks
The extent of the injury isn’t known, but Kisa Mills, Jalen’s mother, said her son won’t need surgery and classified the injury as a “sprain”.

Another report from the New Orleans Times Picayune says Mills “is expected to be out four to six weeks”.
LSU sports information director Michael Bonnette confirmed that Mills was injured but would not specify the nature of the injury.
LSU opens with McNeese State on September 5 and travels to Mississippi State the next week before hosting Auburn.
Mills (62 tackles in 2014, 4.77 per game) returned for his senior season after deciding not to enter the 2015 NFL Draft and was part of the SEC’s No. 1 pass defense last season holding opponents to 51.7% completion percentage. Mills is one of LSU’s most versatile players on defense, as evidenced by his successful transition from cornerback to safety in his sophomore season.
But there aren’t any shortage of talented replacements and LSU figures to be in very good shape to move ahead.

Mills was a former Freshman All-American as a cornerback and will be joined by Jamal Adams to form a dynamic safety duo in what has been considered to be one of the best secondary units in the conference. Junior cornerback Tre’Davious White, who has first-round talent, is also back for his third year as a starter. What will be interesting to watch is how big a rush the LSU coaches/trainers are to get Mills back on the field because Jefferson has laid the foundation of being a really good college safety.
