After coaching the Tigers to a 19-7 triumph over Texas A&M on Saturday night, Miles learned that he’d survived an apparent behind-the-scenes campaign to oust him – at least for now.
Fournette finished the game owning LSU’s single-season rushing record at 1,741 yards, surpassing the mark of 1,686 yards set by Charles Alexander in 1977.
“I just want you to know that’s not good enough”, Miles said.

In classic Miles fashion, LSU dominated the Aggies (8-4, 4-4 SEC) on the ground with 244 yards to 89.
Still, Tigers receiver Malachi Dupre defended Miles’ record as a head coach. Quarterback Brandon Harris completed just 7 of 21 passes for 83 yards with an interception.
Kyle Allen passed for 161 yards and one touchdown for the Aggies (8-4, 4-4), but had a pass intercepted by Donte Jackson inside the final 2 minutes, all but sealing LSU’s victory.
But Diarse never had a chance to catch the ball. “Victory is always enjoyed, especially when it comes a couple of weeks late”, Miles said. “The guy who delivered our body blows was Leonard Fournette”.
