Google is finally adding cellular connectivity to Android Wear, its operating software for smartwatches and wearables, in a move that could reduce a user’s dependence on their phone.

The LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition will share you mobile’s phone number and can do all the necessary works even it is far from your phone. This doesn’t mean that all Android Wear watches will be able to sustain their own connection though, as the watch will need the hardware that allows a connection to LTE.

There really wasn’t any doubt it was coming, but Google this evening has made it official that Android Wear will soon gain cellular support. The Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE will hit Verizon stores on November 19. But if you’ve ever dreamed of going out without your smartphone but staying connected the whole time, a cellular Android Wear smartwatch may be what you need. Plus, you’ll be able to make and receive calls on your watch, if you’re into having conversations with your wrist. The first device to support the feature will be LG’s Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE. While the device can also connect through Wi-Fi and Bluetooth when needed as well. The watch was announced last month and is expected to be available in the US and South Korea this month. The watches have traditionally supported Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections between the phone and the watch.
