Luck sits out with sore right shoulder, but expects to play

Wednesday is the first time he’s missed practice, but it doesn’t sound like Luck or the Colts are overly concerned. Luck attributed his absence to soreness in his right shoulder that occurred in the Broncos game.

With quarterback Andrew Luck back from injury and some reinforcement on the offensive line, many expected the Indianapolis Colts to be contenders.

Andrew Luck returned to practice Thursday. At one point in the preseason, the Colts seven best cornerbacks were all unable to play – a frightening number when you consider most teams keep just five corners.

Luck didn’t say when he was injured in the game, but at that pace, Luck would be sacked 56 times and take an additional 128 hits. He said he anticipates practicing Thursday but will defer to the training staff and coaches to make the final decision.

Luck insisted Wednesday that he will play for the Colts (0-2) in a home game against the San Diego Chargers (1-1) on Sunday (4:25 p.m. ET).

“You’d love guys to be out there for the full week, and that goes for any position, ” Chudzinski said.

Pagano did not talk about Luck’s injury before practice and will not be available again until Friday. They also have Stephen Morris on the practice squad.
