Luis Suarez pleased with Barcelona control

That prospect was made increasingly likely with the Champions League exit at the hands of Barcelona on Wednesday, when a 3-1 win in the Nou Camp wrapped up the Catalan side’s 5-1 aggregate success.

The Gunners went into the game at the Nou Camp already staring down the barrel having been beaten 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium in February’s first leg.

“I am pleased with how I did, but it’s a team game”.

But when Neymar exposed sloppy defending on 17 minutes and raced clear to open the scoring it was clear there would be no fairytale story to take home to north London.

Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi is determined to reward Arsene Wenger for showing faith in him after he started against Barcelona in midweek. On one occasion we were completely guilty, against Monaco.

“We have [Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar] in attack, we want to go with them, and to the extent we’ve had a little control, we’ve tried”.

Speaking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, McLintock said: “We were in for Suarez – £40million and one pound they put in and they lost the deal”.

Mohamed Elneny’s first goal for Arsenal was consigned to the status of a consolation strike as the club continue to fall away. They have two or three players with the ability to transform normal life into art.

“We created plenty of risky situations where we couldn’t take the chances we created, but I must say Barcelona’s accuracy in the final third and the quality of the creativity, especially Messi, is absolutely exceptional”.

“We needed to control the game when it was 2-1 because we knew about their physical condition and because they had the result going against them, we knew they were going to go and take the game to us”.

‘I don’t think many teams have created as many chances against Barcelona as we did.

They have also been knocked out of both the FA Cup and Champions League, with many fans now calling for Wenger to end his reign at the club.

Messi was not to be denied in the 88th minute, however, as he chipped Ospina from close range to ensure that Barcelona becomes the first team to win back to back Champions Leagues.

“Suarez, Messi and Neymar feed off each other”. They also have a team behind them that allows them to get the ball in the best conditions.
