News regarding Lupe’s next three albums comes after Fiasco announced that The Cool 2 is set for a 2017 release. Not taking any questions at this time.
Chicago rapper Lupe Fiasco offered an album update to fans over the weekend, revealing his plans to release not one, but three albums next year. “Thank you”, the tweet read. It seems all label drama is behind him though, as Tetsuo & Youth was met with wide critical acclaim, a return to form after years of flirting with mainstream appeal. Drogas is Spanish for “drugs”, though, so there’s a chance Lupe will return to the themes of The Cool, which told the rise-and-fall story of a drug dealing kingpin.
“‘The Cool” celebrates its 8th birthday today”, the “Paris, Tokyo” rapper wrote. The release will turn 10 in the winter of 2017, which is exactly when he plans to roll out The Cool 2.
