Lyft and Gett Get Google Maps Integration
In addition to the two new options, Google Maps will also display the different types of rides offered by each company. There will also be a similar button for ordering a Gett ride when in New York City, which is actually the only city in the US where you can get a Gett ride. Now users who want to compare prices and travel time between different services can do so when they toggle over to the ride-share tab in the app.

Google Maps new addition will give users more options beyond Uber, which is already available through Google Maps. Navigate to a place – the Empire State Building, say, or the Golden Gate Bridge – and alongside turn-by-turn walking, biking, driving, and public transit directions, you’ll see a ridesharing tab.
Google has entered the ride-sharing arena, partnering with the popular Waze app to match up drivers with passengers. Naturally, several other companies have tried to create a similar one-stop shop for ordering rides. The user can tap the Gett vehicle on the map to open the app. Gett cars are operating in more than 60 cities internationally. While Uber might be one of the most recognizable names in this field, that doesn’t mean they hold a monopoly on this industry.
Coming straight from the horse’s mouth, Google is spreading the word via a blog post, explaining how the new features will add convenience to users’ everyday commute.
