Lynch offers few details on emails
Judicial Watch has asked U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan to allow them to question Clinton as part of a long-running lawsuit.

Republicans are also following another line of attacks against Clinton.
Following extensive coverage over Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey’s decision not to recommend criminal charges against Clinton for her email practices, 82 per cent of those surveyed said it was inappropriate for her to have used a private home server while at the State Department.
The FBI recovered the emails through digital traces left on decommissioned servers and via the inboxes of people with whom Clinton communicated, Comey said.
While Lynch refused to discuss the details of the Clinton investigation, she maintained that the decision to prosecute a case involving improper sharing of classified materials would have to be based on specific facts, on a case-to-case basis.
The Justice Department closed its investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email use without any criminal charges, Lynch announced last week.
He cited Comey’s comments to back up Clinton’s own statements that she used the server simply as a matter of convenience.
Lynch also would not answer questions about Clinton’s testimony last October where she said she never sent or received classified information.
“Rome is burning, there is blood on the streets of many American cities and we are beating this email horse to death”, said Rep. Cedric Richmond, D-La.
“Are you aware that Hillary Clinton has repeatedly lied to the public about her emails and email servers?”
“I think your actions made it worse, I really do”, said Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio.
That approach irritated committee Republicans.
Issa asked if any of the members of the team who investigated Clinton were “political appointees”. “No conversation in that nature at all”, she said.
Kendall said that Clinton’s comment in a 2010 email that she anxious that any use of a State email account might risk the “personal being accessible” did not need to be explored further in a deposition because it had already been explained by Abedin, who said Clinton did not want to expose any of her private emails. “Monday, June 27, Attorney General Lynch you met privately with former President Bill Clinton aboard your plane on the tarmac of Phoenix airport, despite the fact that his wife was the target of an ongoing investigation”.
Goodlatte questioned why Lynch hadn’t recused herself after that meeting.
Lynch acknowledged the need to address the country’s racial tensions and said the key to the problem was communication. That followed police killings of Philando Castile, who was fatally shot near St. Paul, Minnesota, and Alton Sterling, who was shot in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Lynch touched on law enforcement and policing issues including last week’s sniper shooting of five police officers in Dallas by a suspect who said he wanted to kill white officers.

“As we gather here, that sense of safety has been shaken by the series of devastating events that rocked our nation last week”, Lynch said in her prepared opening statement.
