Lynn Anderson’s Funeral Arrangements Announced
“Lynn is blooming in God’s rose backyard now”, fellow nation star Dolly Parton stated after studying of Anderson’s dying. Anderson, a North Dakota native who was raised in California, brought the sounds of Nashville to the masses as a regular part of the network-broadcast “Lawrence Welk Show” in the late 1960s.

Anderson gained her first success within the 1960s, breaking into the nation charts with two of her mom’s compositions, “Ride, Ride, Ride“…
“I am a huge fan of Lynn’s”, Reba McEntire said.
In 1968 Anderson married the songwriter and producer Glenn Sutton, who selected the material and produced her records for her new label, Columbia. “She was always so nice to me”.
Friends, family and the country music community will pay tribute to Lynn Anderson this Wednesday, August 5 in Nashville, Tennessee.
“Anderson’s hit songs included, “(I Never Promised You a) Rose Garden”, “Rocky Top“, “You’re My Man“, “How Can I Unlove You“, “What a Man, My Man Is” and “Top of the World”. His new single “Top of the World” is set to debut this week. She came to the UK in 2012 on the Ladies of Country tour – and I witnessed a truly ragged performance in Liverpool. Watch her perform “Rose Garden” on that show.
Although Anderson was a one-hit wonder as far as the pop charts were concerned, she continued to have country hits.
Not long before her death, Anderson had released an album titled “Bridges”, a collection of gospel songs that included “Drift Away”, written by Anderson’s longtime partner, Mentor Williams.
