Meanwhile, in MA, an autopsy was pending Monday for Marcotte, whose body was found Sunday night, hours after she went missing from a jog.

Now things had changed following Marcotte’s tragic death, as Mr.

Marcotte grew up in nearby Leominster and was home from NY visiting her parents when she was murdered near her mother’s house Sunday afternoon.

The grieving father of Vanessa Marcotte, who was found dead in woodland in Princeton, Massachusetts on 7 August, has asked that his daughter’s killer be found.

Hundreds of tips have been received by investigators in the aftermath of the death of Vanessa Marcotte, District Attorney Joseph Early said.

Residents said, Princeton used to be very quiet and safe before Marcotte’s incident.

Marcotte, who graduated from Boston University in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in communications, worked as an account manager at Google in New York City, according to her LinkedIn account.

Google has paid tribute to Ms Marcotte, saying in a statement: “Vanessa Marcotte was a much loved member of the Google team, working in our NY office for the past year and a half, and known for her ubiquitous smile, passion for volunteer work and love of Boston sports”.

Google said it was “deeply shocked and saddened” by Marcotte’s killing. The piece also said she was a nurse, pursuing her masters degree in creative writing. The woman said she is heartbroken and devastated for the Marcottes.

“She was kind, very bright and unfailingly gracious”, Quigley said. “Their hearts are broken, and our hearts are broken”, Betty Leroux said.

At Vetrano’s funeral, her mother, Cathy, said, “My daughter is a force to be reckoned with”, the Daily News reported. “You can’t be too careful”, Early said. “We are seeking the public’s assistance”.

Police said they did not know if the attack was random or if Marcotte was targeted.

Police both in NY and in MA say they have no reason to believe the two crimes are connected. But Early said Tuesday investigators “haven’t ruled anything out with regards to the NY homicide”. “We’re just here to show our support”, said Princeton Fire Chief John Bennett.
