The world’s biggest coffee morning is organised by Macmillan, the cancer support charity, and business and friends are invited to put the kettle on raise some cash.

Tables throughout the land will be groaning with sponge cakes, shortbread, lemon drizzle cakes and more in a bid to gather in as much money as possible for the charity.
“We are not putting a price on the coffee and cakes but letting people make their own donations as you can’t put a price on the good work Macmillan do”.
It is the 25th World’s Biggest Coffee Morning today, and to celebrate, we dug some old pictures out of the archive.
There’s three within walking distance in Horndean as coffee mornings will begin at 9.30am, 10am and 11pm, respectively, at The Red Lion, Morrisons and RKDia catering.
The cakes were sold as part of Garador’s official support for the Macmillan Coffee Morning, all proceeds going to the charity.

Inspiration for the event itself is easy to find, with the Macmillan website featuring celebrity recipes for goodies such as Paul Hollywood’s chocolate and sour cherry bread, Julie Walters’ hokey pokey rocky road and Amanda Holden’s raspberry shortcake hearts.
