MacOS Sierra release date: Apple desktop OS to release in fall 2016

As expected, Apple has today taken the wraps off iOS 10, by announcing 10 new features. So now, it’s time to stop talking about all those new features and start trying them out.

The news comes from Apple SVP Eddy Cue from the company’s developer’s conference WWDC.

Apple, which makes most of its money from iPhones, says its software respects customer privacy by working with an individual’s data on the iPhone or iPad, while anonymizing information that’s uploaded to its servers.

Thousands of software developers crowded into an auditorium in San Francisco on Monday to hear Apple show off new abilities for its Siri digital assistant by debuting tools to let developers work with the company’s artificial intelligence. Siri can be used via voice, with results that can be integrated into other Mac applications as needed.

Apple also announced that its new Mac system will be called macOS Sierra and will likely come out this fall. It’s also adding services like Dish’s Sling TV and Fox Sports Go.

Apple is unveiling a redesign of its music service, Apple Music, aimed at simplicity and making it easier to find music stored on the device as opposed to streamed from the Internet.

“We’ve got a great new feature called Live TuneIn”, Cue said. Google has already been doing that through a photo app it released past year. Users will not be able to choose Apple Pay as a form of payment, along with Paypal and credit cards. Besides getting Siri, it will let users move more seamlessly between different kinds of Apple devices. You can do photo searches in apps like Pinterest.

Apple’s wisecracking digital assistant will play a larger role in the company’s products.

Instead of just looking at photos chronologically, you can see images based on life events.

Refreshed lock screen: The iOS 10 lock screen will feature a completely new interface with Widgets and capable of 3D Touch actions for apps that would support it.

Apple’s momentum with developers is staggering. While the update may not seem to be that impressive, it does pave way for a next-generation device, with a smarter Siri and better controls.
