Madden 17 update will react to Colin Kaepernick’s protest

The latest version of EA Sports’ blockbuster football franchise Madden will address the controversy surrounding San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, whose decision not to stand up during the USA national anthem at the beginning of Friday’s preseason game against the Green Bay Packers has become a national talking point.

This is one of the stranger sports glitches we’ve ever seen.

It will be added to the recently released “Madden NFL 17” game as part of an upcoming update. Sometimes when players miss a field goal attempt and the ball is caught by the other team, it is declared a touchdown, despite the fact that the ball was caught in the wrong end zone. Why should we be surprised if a video game wants in?

Another common glitch that has been discovered by Madden NFL 17 players involves passing. When this one occurs, no pass icons appear, making it impossible to throw the ball to anyone. The game has been very well-received on all current generations, which is saying something considering the major point of criticism for the “Madden NFL” franchise is that each yearly iteration feels like a huge rehash of the same game. As for the National Football League, well, they now have something of an issue on their hands.

EA Sports already had in place plans to update the game on a regular basis during the 2016 season, with new commentary from Brandon Gaudin and Charles Davis, to reflect real-world happenings, according to the report.
