The attack was made public on Thursday evening just moments after Mr Xi and his wife left the resort following dinner.

He said he thinks China will “want to be stepping up” in trying to deter North Korea’s nuclear ambitions.
North Korea has vowed to bolster its defenses to protect itself against airstrikes like the ones President Donald Trump ordered against an air base in Syria.
The official China Daily newspaper said it was encouraging to see the two-day summit that ended last Friday “going as well as it could” after earlier “confusing signals” from Washington about how it was approaching the US-China relationship.

And in an indication that joint efforts to tackle global warming will lose steam, the commerce secretary, Wilbur Ross, admitted the environment “was not a major part of the discussion, nor do I recall the Chinese specifically raising it”.
Ahead of the summit, a bipartisan group of USA senators sent a letter to Trump asking him to tell China to end its “unwarranted and unfair economic retaliation against South Korea” for the deployment of the Thaad system.
In diplomatic terms it was more sweet seduction than summit, long mapped out by the Chinese who have resisted Trump provocations during the United States election campaign and since he was sworn in.
Recognising the complexity of the issue, both sides agreed to a 100-day plan of marathon trade negotiations, which would allow the USA to cut its trade deficit without undermining existing economic ties with China.
At the end of the summit Friday, Xi departed Florida for a more northern vista, landing in Alaska and requesting time with Gov. Bill Walker during a refueling stop in Alaska’s largest city.
On trade issues, Trump called for China to “level the playing field” for American workers, stressing the need for reciprocal market access.
Trump talked up the meeting with lots of tough rhetoric about how he was going to get China to fully exert its influence over North Korea or, if he needed to, go it alone, saying Washington could “totally” resolve the issue without China’s help.
For China, the meeting was probably a success.
Xi said China is pushing forward the supply-side structural reform, boosting domestic demand and increasing the share of the services industry in its national economy.
USA intelligence officials say Pyongyang could be less than two years away from developing a nuclear warhead that could reach the continental United States.
They remarked generally about “progress” in their relationship and optimism about the future.
Trump repeatedly bashed China on the campaign trail and upon taking office, blaming it for the loss of American jobs, reported Politico news. Xi said the delegations covered important topics and have established a good friendship and working relationship.
Another matter that didn’t come up was the bankruptcy of Westinghouse Electric Co.’s nuclear-reactor business. Trump has repeatedly hammered China for exporting more to the USA than it buys.
There appeared to be little in the way of concrete achievements during 24 hours in the sun, but officials said that a rapport had been built that will carry on the next four years. Mnuchin added that “any such transaction” would have to be reviewed by the Committee on Financial Investment in the U.S., which can block sales of United States companies to foreign investors. And much of the responsibility for seeding this “strategic distrust” in the region must go to the US.
After the meeting, Trump took Xi on a walk around the manicured grounds of his lavish Spanish-style complex.
“President Trump noted the challenges caused by Chinese government intervention into its economy”, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said. The missile strikes catapulted Washington into confrontation with Russian Federation, which has advisers on the ground aiding its close ally Assad.

China, which alongside Russian Federation has repeatedly opposed United Nations resolutions against beleaguered Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. “The president will make whatever decision he thinks is in the best interest of the American people”.
