Madison County libraries’ summer reading program
The Summer Reading Program at Prescott Valley Public Library begins Wednesday, June 1st. “The program runs concurrently with the children’s program”. Enjoy looking at and learning about a variety of birds and their habitats.

You may have noticed that the name of the program has changed.
Reading programs are from May 31- July 30.
The Summer Reading Program is all about fitness this year; fitness of mind and body.
“It came from my heart”, said Mrs. McCollough about the donation.
In addition to reading, there are many special programs planned for children and teens. The library has their own server for participants to log onto. She believed that reading could make a difference in children’s lives, and through her wonderful gift, she is leaving a legacy for an entire generation to discover the joy of reading.
At least every two weeks, we loaded up with books – the trip to the library just the beginning of the enjoyment. Book Bucks can be redeemed at the Library Store. Last year, 4.5 million students nationwide read 4,732,169 books over summer vacation.
On Tuesday, June 7, young adults can participate in Zumba with Tennille Aker from Fitness First. The Bossier Library’s program is already going, and branches have many activities planned. Each parish library also offers information online.

All events will be held at the Lebanon-Wilson County Public Library. Some of the Monday programs include: Making kool-aid playdough, making your own butter, Cookie Monster cookie decoration party, a Disney party, sassy sock day, pajama storytime and stuffed animal sleepover. We do this because, as any teacher will tell you, children need to continue to read during the summer break to maintain their reading skills, otherwise they may experience the “Summer Slide”. “We are pleased and honored to collaborate with NSLA, the White House, a large number of schools, districts, communities, and state and superintendent organizations that work so hard to keep kids reading and learning year-round”. Also, if you walk through the Princeville Heritage Days Art Show exhibit between June 17 and July 9 and sign the guest book, you will get a bonus entry into the Adult Summer Reading prize drawing.
