On Wednesday, Kaplan said she wasn’t going to remove the order but also said she wasn’t planning on issuing a warrant to compel Ritchie to appear in NY.

‘It would be my fervent hope that discussions between the parties can reach an amicable resolution, ‘ Mr Justice MacDonald told the court on Thursday.

Meanwhile, film director Guy was blasted by a NY judge for ignoring a court order to return Rocco to his mum in Manhattan.

The 47-year-old, dressed in a gray tweed jacket and heathered top hat, nervously played with a pen while sitting in the front row of the 90-minute hearing. State Supreme Court Justice Deborah Kaplan appealed to the singer and film director to resolve the dispute amicably due to their adverse effect on their son, adding that the case should never have reached a courtroom.

Justice MacDonald echoed that sentiment, saying “an amicable negotiated resolution is definitely the way forward and in Rocco’s best interests”.

Mr Justice MacDonald said he had to examine issues with Rocco’s welfare before deciding whether to dismiss the case.

People noted that during a hearing on March 2, Madge was informed that son, Rocco, will remain in London with Ritchie for now as the exes have not yet come to a custody agreement.

He said so much was already in the public domain following the NY hearing he would allow additional reporting of his remarks and the fact that all sides now wanted the proceedings to stop.

On Wednesday, a NY judge implored the couple to end their months-long legal battle.

Twice-divorced Madonna has three other children: Lourdes, 19, with her former partner, fitness trainer Carlos Leon; and David and Mercy, both 10, adopted from Malawi.

The singer has taken to social media as part of her increasingly desperate attempts to win her son over.

Rocco has since started attending school in London, and both parents have agreed to let him stay there until the case is decided.
