Mads Mikkelsen in Early Talks for Villain Role in Doctor unusual

Although “Hannibal” has just one episode left, leading man Mads Mikkelsen’s future is looking awfully bright. Quite the opposite, in fact.

Along with Alan Tudyk, Mads Mikkelsen recently joined the cast of the first Star Wars Anthology movie Rogue One, and has now gone on the record to confirm his part in the movie. Wait, one of the villains? It was assumed that Mikkelsen would likely take on another villainous role in the upcoming Rogue One film, but it appears as though that postulation was wrong. We don’t know what that role is, precisely. That combination never worked out, and now the film is going into production with Benedict Cumberbatch as Earth’s Sorcerer Supreme, alongside a cast that also includes Chiwetel Ejiofor, Tilda Swinton, and Rachel McAdams. Baron Mordo is another student of the Ancient One, and he and unusual end up in conflict – in comics, at least, and presumably in the film. Marvel had no comment on Mikkelsen’s involvement.

We’re getting closer and closer principal photography on Doctor odd, the Marvel Studios film that will finally dive into the magical and mystical realms of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s very possible he’ll be playing a smuggler, an information broker, a gangster, or any number of characters who could serve an important function in the story without being affiliated with the Empire or the Rebels. It would be a shame to waste his tremendous face, however. Could Dr. odd be more of a think piece than we’re giving it credit for? All things considered, I’d much rather see the actor in Doctor odd, so this looks like a win, if it works out.
