The trailer is titled “Lincoln Clay – The Soldier”, and it allows us to get to know Lincoln a bit better; the way he grew up, his challenges and more. A fact Hanger 13 want to drive home. Lincoln Clay is the anti-hero of Mafia III and after having returned from the war he is immediately thrust into unfamiliar territory. Mafia III doesn’t want to shy away from the controversies of the era: for example, Lincoln might get in trouble simply by being in certain places of the city that are white-only.

The new Mafia 3 trailer is a fairly short video, less than a minute all-told, but we’re introduced into the three other characters that Clay will be bringing into his gang: Vito, Burke, and Cassandra. I feel like Mafia III is going to have a lot to say about social issues that plague the US still today (and most of the world in fact), which could compound the impact game’s message in a way even its developers might not have expected. The game releases for PS4, Xbox One, and PC Oct. 7.
