Hoping to finally turn the corner in their rebuilding process, the Orlando Magic will be tested right out of the gate in 2015. There is but one preseason game left, as the Pelicans host the Heat Friday at the Smoothie King Center. Davis was 17 for 19 from the free-throw line.

The sounds of basketballs bouncing, children yelling gleefully and adults coaching filled the Downtown Recreation Complex gym Thursday afternoon as the Orlando Magic held a clinic for nearly 100 kids ages 6-14. Backup point guard Nate Robinson, who was signed last week, also came to the rescue in the fourth after making back-to-back 3-pointers to the score at 99 with 45.6 remaining before center Nikola Vucevic made two free throws to give the Magic a 101-99 lead. The Pelicans, however, made 43 of 51 free throws. The Pelicans committed seven turnovers in the third quarter after combining for seven in the first half. Ryan Anderson scored 11 points before fouling out. Those three, Gee, and Robinson played all of overtime, and this put Gee over the 30m mark. C Omer Asik sat out the game with a calf injury.

Gentry said before the game that Evans is projected to miss six to eight weeks after arthroscopic knee surgery on Tuesday.
