EA also revealed more about the new mode, Extraction, telling fans: “Rebel forces have entered some of the most unsafe places in the Outer Rim in order to extract a valuable shipment of resources”. As the name suggests, Extraction Mode will pit the players against one another as the Rebels set out to extract and retrieve a package and bring it back to their home base while the Empire tries to stop them. New Star Cards will include the Scatter Gun, Dioxis Grenade and Adrenaline Stim.

Included in this DLC are new maps on Tatooine and Sollust, new weapons, two new playable heroes, and a new mode.

A release date is yet to be announced.

“As everyone knows, with Star Wars, there is an unlimited amount of things you can do with the content. And as Disney starts to add more and more new content, that gives fuel to our ability to add more games around it”. One of the most iconic locations in the Star Wars universe makes its debut in Star Wars Battlefront.

Four expansion packs with 16 new multiplayer maps will equal four maps for each of these DLC releases.

During summer the studio is planning to introduce Cloud City and another two new heroes to Star Wars Battlefront before the end of summer and the Death Star itself will become a battleground in the fall of this year.

But before any announcements about the upcoming DLC release, EA community manager Mat Everett revealed on Twitter that a free content update will be released in March, right before the “Outer Rim” DLC comes out in the market.
