Magnitude 6.4 natural disaster strikes near Tokyo, Japan

The Japan Meteorological Agency said an undersea natural disaster with a preliminary magnitude of 6.5 hit Friday morning at a depth of about 10 kilometers.

As per the USGS website, the quake hit the countrys east-southeast of Katsuura city at a depth of 10 kms.

The Japan Meteorological Agency reported a magnitude 6.5 natural disaster 230 km southeast of Tokyo.

There was no tsunami warning issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Hawaii. Authorities said there were no reports of any immediate damage or injury.

Japan’s Meteorological Agency reported that the natural disaster “has caused no damage to Japan”, while adding that “slight sea-level changes in coastal regions” may be observed.

A M6.4 natural disaster has struck off the east coast of Honshu, near Tokyo, Japan.

The location of the quake was close to the Japan Trench in the North Pacific Ocean, near the junction of the Pacific, Eurasian and Philippine Plates. No damage or casualties have been reported at the moment.
