Maharashtra Government To Appeal Against Salman Khan’s Verdict
The Bombay High Court acquited Salman Khan of all charges in the 2002 hit-and-run case, on Wednesday and the actor’s father Salim Khan is “happy and relieved” with the court’s decision.

Salman Khan took to his twitter account and expressed his gratitude, “I accept the decision of the judiciary with humility”.
The court had declared yesterday that the investigation by the police had been faulty all through the while. “The trial court’s verdict is quashed and set aside…Salman is acquitted of all the charges”, Justice A R Joshi said, reading out the judgement. Subsequently, Salman Khan was freed of all the charges, walking as a free bird.
He said, “Let’s not forget that in the last 13 years, Salman Khan spent 18 days in jail. People who are giving grief to Salman Khan have no idea what my son has gone through”.
Khan is one of Bollywood’s biggest stars, appearing in more than 80 Hindi films, and has a huge fan following.
“Everybody is happy. Every person who is close to Salman emotionally, is happy”.
Superstar Salman Khan’s long legal ordeal ended in exoneration.
It was only when the judge insisted that Salman Khan must be present before the verdict was read out, that the actor hurried to the court in south Mumbai on Thursday, the ‘s Yogita Limaye reports from Mumbai.

The HC held that the prosecution failed to prove “beyond reasonable doubt” that the actor was driving the vehicle at the time of the incident.
