Mahrez signs new four-year deal with Leicester
Mahrez also had words of praise for Ranieri, who guided Leicester to the unlikeliest of Premier League titles last season.

Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez won the PFA Player of the Year as the Foxes clinched the Premier League last season.
Mahrez scored 17 Premier League goals and recorded 11 assists, giving Leicester City the class in midfield that separated it from just another EPL also-run and allowed it compete – and beat – the giants of the EPL.
With Danny Drinkwater expected to follow suit and N’Golo Kante’s move to Chelsea the only major departure, Mahrez believes Leicester have the strength to challenge for honours again this season.
It ends uncertainty around his future which appeared to affect wideman in pre-season and in City’s opening day shock 2-1 defeat at Hull.
“I’ve achieved good things with this club”, Mahrez told LCFC TV. If you look at his numbers, certainly he was in the top three in the league previous year.
Wenger knows he needs a positive result at the King Power tomorrow to keep his critics at bay and give him time to bring in the two additions we sorely need to make us competitive this season.
“Our football has a lot of energy, so if all the players keep their mentalities right, I think we can do something good this year”.
“[The Premier League] is a super league and I would like to stay here as long as possible”, he said.
They only lost three games all season and two of those defeats were inflicted by Arsenal, who ended up finishing behind the Midlands club in second spot.
He said: “We are now in the Champions League and we need something more to play against the big teams”.
“We won’t change our mentality”. The club described him as “one of the most feared attacking players in Europe”. They would play against Leicester as you would any relegation-battling teams. They can not afford to lose their opening two games for the risk of already being six points behind their title rivals.

Remember that overly confident Arsenal fan who was so sure of the Gunners signing Riyad Mahrez from Leicester that he went out and got the electric Algerian winger’s name on the back of his shirt?
