The twin suicide bombing at the mosque on the outskirts of the state capital Maiduguri killed around 29 people late on Thursday, a medical source said.
The two suicide bombers were among the casualties counted, he added.
About 37 people altogether have been killed in the recent bombings which happened in Maiduguri.
While Boko Haram says it wants to establish an Islamic state in Nigeria’s mainly Muslim north, the group is despised by most Nigerian Muslims who view its violent activities – which include frequent attacks on civilian targets – as entirely un-Islamic.
The bombers slipped into the mosque disguised as worshippers, witnesses said.
Three other women also set off explosives at about 5 a.m. on Friday in the village of Umarari, near Molai, killing seven people, including the bombers, and wounding 20, said resident Abba Ibrahim.
Maisaji said the bodies were deposited in the mortuary and the injured were receiving treatment. The rebels have killed thousands since 2009 as Boko Haram seeks to impose its version of Islamic law on Africa’s most populous nation.
