Maine state senator: Censure may be in order for governor
As Maine Governor Paul LePage endures fallout from controversial comments he made over the past week, he has chose to up the ante once again by apparently referring to Black and Hispanic people as “the enemy”. Drew Gattine on Thursday.

Speaking on the voicemail, Gattine said it was “upsetting, inappropriate and uncalled for”.
‘These types of guys – they come from CT and NY, they come up here, they sell their heroin, they go back home, ‘ he continued, according to the Portland Press Herald. They come up here, they sell their heroin, then they go back home. ‘Incidentally, half the time they impregnate a young white girl before they leave, which is a real sad thing because then we have another issue we have to deal with down the road’.
LePage came unhinged in response to reports – which Gattine denies – that the lawmaker called the governor racist for claiming that black and Hispanic people are responsible for 90 percent of the state’s drug arrests.
It seems the reason for the voicemail is based on hearsay.
“Our governor, Paul LePage, is a bigot, a homophobe, and a racist”, the ME native and renowned horror author tweeted Saturday, following a series of unfiltered, racially charged remarks from the Republican governor last week. LePage did not appreciate the lawmaker’s comments and left a message for Gattine, calling him a ‘little son-of-a-bitch, socialist cocksucker’.
And that voicemail was made public thanks in part to the governor, himself. According to the Portland Press Herald, a TV reporter suggested that State Rep.
LePage later told reporters that he wished he could point a gun between Gattine’s eyes.
Maine’s Democratic assistant House majority leader said the comments show LePage is unfit to hold office. I apologize for that to the people of Maine, but I make no apology for trying to end the drug epidemic that is ravaging our state.

“He called me a racist, and in my mind, there is not a word in the English dictionary that I could repeat that is more hurtful”, LePage said Friday.
