Negotiations … Police and ground crew spent 20 minutes talking the couple away from the plane Taking off …
The South China Morning Post reports that a Chinese couple arrived 20 minutes late for their flight to Shanghai over the weekend.
The airport staff and security officials tried talking to her and getting her off the runway but to no avail.
The woman demanded that she and her husband be allowed to board the aircraft even if the boarding bridge had already been detached from the aircraft.
They had to be eventually removed from the runway by the police. The duo was arrested, but not before the man was forced to drag the woman out from underneath the aircraft.
The passengers missed the flight because they failed to hear the boarding broadcast and were still waiting at the terminal building when the boarding ended, according to Air China. Airport police put the woman and her husband in detention five days.
‘Ignoring the intervention, they insisted on boarding the aircraft.
