Major 2016 MacBook Pro Spec Change Revealed By macOS Sierra Code
“[It] not only provides support for 10 Gbps USB 3.1 Gen 2, but it also lets users take advantage of blazing-fast 40 Gbps Thunderbolt connectivity and DisplayPort 1.2”. Probably the biggest change that MacOS Sierra will bring on the next-gen MacBook Pro is the incorporation of the Cupertino based tech giant’s voice activated virtual assistant Siri.

Even though Apple has not specifically mentioned what the latest beta update of MacOS Sierra intends to offer but it is certain that this is an effort by the tech giant to ideal the final version of the operating system powering the next generation MacBook Pro. Possibly, the upgrade will apply across the board on the high-end Mac desktops and laptops, and the latter will certainly include the hotly-anticipated MacBook Pro 2016.
The macOS Sierra, which is the upcoming thirteenth major release of macOS, will support USB 3.1 2nd Generation – widely known as the upgraded version of USB-C.
Indeed, USB 3.1 Gen 1 offers the same top speed as USB 3.0 (5Gbps) whereas Gen 2 actually doubles that up to an impressive 10Gbps. It’s now unclear when the next generation of MacBook models are going to be announced, but it’s been reported that Apple is going to host a low key event when the company is going to announce all the models. OS X El Capitan is also void of support for this 10Gb/s type of port. Thus, it is safe to say that this ultra-speed USB 3.1 will start with the upcoming MacBook Pro 2016 and will be incorporated in all of the next MacBook devices as well. Thus, the addition of the 10Gb/s variant of USB 3.1 does not come as a surprise.
A new line of code is added, specifically super_speed_plus, indicating that support for 10 Gbps USB 3.1 Gen 2 is coming very soon.

Rumore which much emphasised the MacBook Pro 2016 on release date is Intel Kaby Lake that according to analysts is the chief reason Apple delayed the product launch to October or November this year. There have also been rumors of a detachable touchscreen, Surface Book style, but that’s one of the more outlandish pieces of speculation.
