Major announcement: Microsoft reveals new cloud partnership at Ignite 2016

According to BT, customers can now gain access to Microsoft‘s rapidly growing collection of integrated cloud services, including leading Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) computing capabilities. But, it should also be taken with a grain of salt: A spokesperson for Adobe confirmed the company has a “large footprint” with AWS and it expects to use both AWS and Azure moving forward. It’s not clear from Microsoft’s announcement of its new Adobe deal whether Adobe’s Creative Cloud, Marketing Cloud and Document Cloud will run on any other cloud backbones, with Azure as a secondary option or choice.

Interestingly enough, Adobe has so far used Amazon Web Services, but it was left unclear if this means Amazon is getting the boot or not.

CEO Satya Nadella, well into his third year at the helm of the world’s biggest software company, has been reorienting Microsoft’s business around cloud and productivity services to fuel growth as traditional software sales shrink.

Monday at Microsoft Ignite, Adobe and Microsoft Corp. announced plans for a strategic partnership to help enterprise companies embrace digital transformation and deliver compelling, personalized experiences through every phase of their customer relationships.

Additionally, Microsoft will use the San Jose, CA-based software company’s Adobe Marketing Cloud as its marketing service for its Dynamic 365 cloud software.

At Ignite 2016, Microsoft executive Vice President Scott Guthrie spoke at length about the company’s goal to empower every person and organisation on this planet.

Aimed at the IT professionals who are working to help their organizations move into the digital business era, the new services announced by Microsoft include security and intelligence enhancements for Windows 10 Enterprise, Office 365 and Microsoft Dynamics.

At the event, Microsoft AI customers such as Lowe’s, Uber showcased how they are using Cortana Intelligence and Microsoft Cognitive Services in different industry verticals.

Microsoft also has partnered with Renault-Nissan Alliance to build mobility services for Microsoft Azure cloud platform-powered automobiles.

In that time, CloudHealth has seen a surge in customer demand for comprehensive management capabilities around Azure, Kinsella said, often complementing infrastructure hosted by other cloud operators. Moreover, the companies enable users to combine the capabilities of Microsoft Azure, Adobe Marketing Cloud and Microsoft Dynamics 365 – Microsoft’s cloud-based CRM and ERP solution.
